Hi all
I think that the reason many people find the brakes are inadequate is because the brake levers are not perpendicular to the servo arm.
It's impossible to apply good torque to the discs this way..
Any way to adjust this ??
Bend the levers ??

Should the levers not stop sooner than they do on mine ?
Maybe the discs are worn already ?
I dont remember them engaging so late when i first got the truck.... [

well, does your truck stop fine?? if it does then yes it good!! but it does not look any worse than any others I have seen. If you want the levers to be more perpeicular then you could try to tighten the "cage" screws that secure the pads but you dont want to tighten them so much that you cause draging.

Oh BTW, see the mark n the 2nd gear clutch(external clutch bell) Tha is from the rear brake lever rod rubbing under extreme braking, and that is why I am only running one se of brakes on the front of the tranny. Let me get a pic for ya

And 1 set is actually enough to stop it ?
My Savage flips right over if I hit the brakes too hard, that has not happened with my GST yet....that is why I was wondering....
Thx for the help

from your pic it looks like the brakes are different on the GST compared to the Gen/Nem.
I would think that that setup you have pictured would be good for racing (more gradual braking).
If you really want hardcore brakes, remove the plastic spacer and the spring from the rod and just use the collar/set screw.
If I tap my brakes, it's on its lid for sure

I lost my lever, the one screw I didn't go over on my rebuild, and home made one that works great. Just had to use some fuel line and a small washer to keep everything togeather and I like the feel more now than from stock....my lever are is a little longer than stock now though.
[edit] have since moved the arm out for more leverage
