problem

Default problem

can someone tell me how to fix this: i can start the engine fine, but right when i take out the glow igniter it will turn off, its a matrix rtr and i just got it 2 days ago.

If it's the same plug from break in, it's time for a new plug. Or it could just be a bum plug, start with that and let us know

i did take the plug out and saw that was heating up, but i did switch to a different plug that i knew worked and it did the same.

what kind of glow plugs are you using? also, the temp "rating" of the plugs

Have you messed with the needles at all? Have you broken the engine in yet? Make sure you break the engine in fully before tuning it.

i didnt mess with it before this happened, but i just made it richer and it stayed running so that was the problem.

Ok, keep running it how it is. If you have a temp gun, make sure it's around 200-250 for break in. Follow the break in procedure the best you can. You can also try the heat cycle method, or which ever way works for you. Hopefully after break in, the engine will run more easily and tune better. Sometimes break in is a hassle to deal with, but you have to get through it.
Make sure good smoke is coming from the exhaust and watch the engine temp. Never over 300 if it ever gets there.
Keep trying to start the engine and keep the glow ignitor on. After revving the motor or running around some, try to take the ignitor off.
