Default Matrix Questions

Ok, so I got my first Nitro RC, the CEN Matrix, it came with the 4.6cc Corsa Engine. Now I've done the 3 idle break in tanks, then started to do my first break in tank, and im drive in it around for a while, engine sputters then shuts off. It sound like it normally did when I was running the idle tanks. I walked up to get my car and noticed my pull start was wrapped around my rear left tire. The ENTIRE rope was pulled out, no idea how it happened. First does anyone have any idea how this could have happened, I drove it around in a parking lot and didnt hit anything. Second is there a way i can fix this from happening in the future??? Also I would like to know if theres an Electric or Roto start for my car and which ones are compatible other than CEN branded ones, if any. The LHS dont carry many CEN products unfortunately. One of the LHS thinks that the Roto start for a Savage will work for my car but before I buy it I would like to know if anyone has tried it and how difficult it was to install (meaning if there were parts that needed to be modified).

You pulled your cord too far out, when you drove it it came out by itself, I've had that problem, try to get a new one and finish your break in/tuning. The HPI Rotostart will work, the HPI backplate won't, is too small. Don't put any rotostart in your car until you have a whole gallon trhough it, it voids the warranty. Your engine was stuttering and acting weird because it is still new, keep driving it around and start tuning it on the fifth tank (follow the instructions that came with it). It'll take you a while to tune it and get it right, once you do it, you're going to love your matrix. Good luck let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the response! When I went to my LHS he sold me a HPI pull start but its like its just too small, and he doesn't carry any CEN parts, does anyone know any other pull starts that will fit, I have the .28 Corsa Engine. Also, I rewound my pull start but it doesn't fit snug anymore, I assume this will be a problem, the other thing is, when i pull the pull start some times it moves the cylinder, some times it doesn't. Its not like it was before, it used to have lots of tension on the rope when i would pull it.

Well you could try cen direct, is basically the same thing as the SH28, [link=http://www.cenracingdirect.com]CEN store.[/link] just click the link and you'll find what you need. The HPI stuff won't work on it, maybe Kyosho or Ofna. Or if you can find any other type of Pullsart in your LHS that fits. I would take out that one way bearing carry it to the LHS and find something on the shelves that fits it.

OH, the CEN stuff that will fit that one is the one for the MG16, the SH28, the NX26, the MG10, and I believe the CT5 recoil assembly will fit your car, just take your one way bearing to make sure.
