Default Nemesis Hitec 5955 problem

Hey, I just put a HiTec 5955 in my Nemesis today and I have a problem. The last stock steering servo worked fine but after reading the forums I picked this up. I installed it and it works fine for a few turns but then it locks in one direction and refuses to move after that. Did I mess something up? Replacing the servo was pretty straight forward. The only thing I didn't use was the arm that came with the 5955, I kept the original on, could that be the problem? I know there isn't much going from the servo to the wheels for turning so hopefully it won't be a hard fix. I searched a few pages of forums and didn't really see anything that applied. If anybody can help please use beginner terms as I'm new to this, Thank you in advance for any help offered.

Hitec has a 24 spline shaft. The orig arm most likely is NOT. Use the correct arm and you should be good to go.

Thanx, I really appreciate it, I'll be changing it out today. I should have known it was common sense to do that but the screw was stripped and I said forget about it, I was just ready to see the difference in turning power once I got it. Thank you.

No problem. Common deal. That's a strong servo. Be sure and set your end points , so as not to damage it. Let us know how things work out.

That was definitley the prob, switched the arm and it turned fine. Only prob now is I need to center it...take the arm back off and let the servo center so the wheels are straight. When you mention end points are you referring to the linkage arm that's connected to the servo arm? Is that even the right terminolgy? The arm where you can make it shorter or longer?? The truck turns awesome now from a standstill. Wondering should I replace the throttle/brake servo now.

Good. Figured that was your problem. What radio do you have ? Does it have end point adj. No it is not done with the linkage. When we see what radio you have, we can proceed. Stick with your present throttle/brake servo for a bit and then see if you'd like a faster one.

I have the Airtronics MX-3 75Mhz model/92836 3 CH. Recv. This radio has a bunch of stuff on it but I have no clue as to what any of it means. The instruction manual isn't all that great for a new guy. I'm looking at the manual now and it does have end pt. adjustments.

Ok , MX3 should do the job. Carefully read the directions for the end points on steering. You want to set full left and right one at a time ( be sure the servo is centered 1st ) I go full each way and back off the end point of the servo just a hair. You are just limiting the servo travel so that it isn't fighting the stops. Hard to explain, but look at the steering and you should get the idea. let us know how it goes
