Imay be getting a GST 7.7 roller in a trade and I was curious about the engine. Iv done some reading and it seems the stock 7.7 mill is not desirable with tuning and temp problems, or have these issues been resolved? It also seems aftermarket engines are not totally compatible with the GST set-up. Is the GSR 5.0 clutch assembly all Ineed to fit a .28, .30, or .32 mill on this truck? What have you other GST owners used as a powerplant for these trucks, and how was it mounted? I have a modified k4.6 I could spare to power this truck, but would this have enough ass to move this big truck?
Doesnt seem to be many posts about aftermarket engines in the GST aside from the OS 30 and I wanted to get some more opinions from GST owners on a good direction. Would a modified picco 28 do this truck well?
Please PM me if you know specifics, or post here so we can discuss...Im pretty pumped to own one of these trucks as they are not widely seen, and the size is impressive.

There is a guy in here, 27pos who has a thread or two dedicated to installing a regular big block in the chassis. I had a new 7.7 and it started very well but it took a while to get the air leaks out of it. Its a slow and low revving engine. I wasn't a fan of it and think installing a regular big block is worth looking into.

I didnt figure the stocker to be a great mill, but since I already have a savy and truggy built for speed thought about using it just to save the project of conversion. A little suprised nobody makes a conversion kit, or motor mount to allow for regular BB's to fit in this truck....seems odd the 7.7 is the ONLY option unless you self modify. Can .28's, .30's, .32's push this truck around being 17lbs? Iv read 27pos's posts, but was hoping to find a few others that have BB's in their CEN...Good to have more that 1 testimonial
