Default Help with Raven 50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

I am all most done building my first Helicopter and I have some questions for who ever is willing to give a newbee a hand. The Hurricane Carbone Blades that come with the kit also came with 4 washers. Do you use these washers? I can't find any where in the directions that says use them or not. My next Question is a real newbee question. I am having one hell of a time trying to figure out what servos do what and where they go on the receiver. I know that the throttle is channel 3 and of course I know where the battery goes, after that I am at a complete lost. My gryo should be here this week (I hope!!!). I am completely green when it comes to helicopters. From what I have read on this forum I fully agree with the people that say Century's instructions are pretty bad (WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Any help what be great.
Thank you
Jeff

The Hurricane blades can be used on many different helis. The spacers are considered part of the blades, not the heli. That is why there s no reference to them in the instructions. They are for use with other helis that may have wider blade grips.

As for the servos, Century cannot provide instructions to where these plug into the radio receivers, as they are different, relative to the many different radios on the market. Those instructions should be in the radio manual under the swashplate mix menu or other menus related to eCCPM installations. There will be a number to choose from:

a) 120 degree with the two in front and one in the back (e.g. Raven)
b) 120 degree with one in front and two in the back like some others
c) 3 servo - 90 degree with two on the side and one in front or one in the back
d) 4 servo 90 degree with one on each side and one in front and one in the back

JR Radios even have mixing menus for different 140 degree systems (e.g. Vigor/Vibe)

So check your radio manuals, for where the servos should be plugged in. They should explain it in them. Ditto for where the gyro and rudder servo wires plug in....check with the gyro manual when you get it.

P.S. Actually relative to other manuals they are about average, better then some and not as good as others. The only ones I have found a bit better are those from Hirobo. And some of them have also not been as good as some from Century.

Once you get more experience under your belt you will find such things out and will be able to make better relative judgements.

For sure, the one with the control rod going to the rear ball on the swashplate will be plugged into the "elevator" port of the RX (#2 in a Futaba) and one of the front ones will be to the aileron port (#1 in Futaba) and the other to the Collective port (#6 in Futaba). The rudder servo into the gyro and the gyro into the rudder port of the RX (#4 in Futaba). The sensitivity/gain wire would go to the AUX port on the RX (#5 in Futaba) and the throttle servo to the throttle port (#3 in Futaba)
