Default Can anyone identify this pipe?

This looks like a 60 size (composite) pipe, I recently acquired it but would like to know who was the manufacture or anything about it. “Thanks for the Help Guys”

looks like an asano, used at the end of the classic pattern era, when when low weight was the new fashion.

The pipe on the picture is from th e company HAFU and was made in the 80 s.

In the beginning there where a lot of problems with the pipe inlet later was there a aluminium piece in the pipe .

Best regards Michael

Never heard of HAFU but the pipe somewhat does resembles the Hatori short stroke pipe .

Took a pic side by side, and tried to get some shots of the internals, I can see the aluminum in there, first baffle and the mounting lug which I originally thought was a pipe pressure point.

Composite pipe is 1.5 oz lighter than the Hatori.

Just a cool looking piece nevertheless.

Hi,

I'm rather sure this glass pipe was used in Wolfgang Matt Saphir 1. In Robbe (Germany) catalog 1992 this pipe is listed together with Matt's Saphir 1 kit.
Here is part of the catalog that shows the kit and pipe together:

Thanks Bo for the info.

That looks like a match except for this one having an orange finish to it.

more than likely the aging of the epoxy has turned it orange or a change in the manufacturing epoxy

I once tried adding one of these pipes to my airplane. it didn't do a thing for the engine's performance, and it interfered with the controls.

(Don't judge me- it was the '70s after all. A long time ago!)
