I know this ain't classic stuff, but going to try something else, gas. Starting out with a 26% Yak, by Pilot. Received yesterday, the packaging and build of this Yak, is superb. Purchased from Chief, delivered from their Deland, FL locaton. DLE 30. One day delivery, UPS Ground. The P-6 only needs the wing and stab painted, it is going on hold.

Vince, I fly a 100cc Yak. No 3d of course but a great Sunday flyer. The larger plane is very stable, easy to see and very easy to land. Enjoy your new purchase.

Hey Vince, anything we do is classic these days eh! Nice looking Yak, really nice looking. We had a guy in the club that flew gassers,I really liked the way the planes presented in the air and as David said, they're really easy to see and keep up with. I may try it one day soon, but right now I keep looking at this hoard of vintage stuff I just can't seem to let go of!. Keep us posted Vince, looking forward to seeing/hearing more of the assembly.

Thanks for all the good words. I am about ready to get active again. Clean out the shop, put more planes in the attic, send radio gear off to get checked out, no problem, just staying on the safe side, then get with the program. I have built some 1/2 scale planes, all wood in kit form, had a couple of Somenizi's planes with DA-50's, then the Piedmont Focus Sports. The FS only larger planes that I have flown. SPA came along, I let all the 1/4 scale stuff go, never flew them, sold it all. Everytime I have been going to one of the club fields here, I have been checking out the bigger planes. Tried to get a TBM - AM-6 Zero, they say, may be back to inventory, one to two years, if at all.
Change of pace to keep the enthusiasm up, can't wait to get 'er done, get good reliable idles with the gas, vs. all the stuff I have had with the YS engines, always had to have someone walk it out, clear it, then sit it down, take off.
Did learn it all but took time. I just paid $319.95 plus shipping, for the DLE-30, be here Monday. Went on one of those Nitro sites, they are selling the same set-up for $209.95. Didn't check the shipping charges, but all complete. Chief had a deal, pay the $419.00 for the plane, they would sell the DL-30 for another $209.00 or 219, forget which.
