Blue Angel - Build
#676
Hello..
I follow with interest, as your Blue Angel build. I am impressed with how clean and exactly this model is build.
I have in 1980 even built the Blue Angel and flown over 3 years, and was on the flight characteristics enthusiastic.
I do at the time model airplanes for the AEROFLY-Professional-Deluxe, and have the Blue Angel for the simulator completed last week.
Have fun and continue with the success.
Many greetings
Karl-Heinz

I can't wait to see this plane finished! Everything seems to be moving smoothly, but unfortunately slowly
. Here is a picture of my plane I took last Frieday, just don't get confused, it's not what you think it is, and to be honest I don't know the plane's name, maybe some of you could identify it, Anyways enjoy!

This is the spinner that I'm using and is correct for the BA. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...12-b&search=Go

mob_z, it's a Bridi Dirty Birdy with a different style canopy. It's a very nice looking plane.
8178, your fuselage looks like one of those computer generated 3D models, it's so smooth and even. Flawless.

Thanks 8178, i am building this plane without a set of plans.
I picked it up from another modeler. The fuse was 80% built, the canopy is missing(one on order from Carolina Aircraft, thanks Dan)and i have to cut a new set of wings. The one that came with the plane were bowed.
Anyone would have a tip and root rib tracing for the BA.
Thanks.Phil

By the time i get the cores to Canada they will cost me close to 90 dollars.
I can cut them here,i have the foam and a bow.Or i can get them cut from a cnc cutter if i download the wing profile from Profili
but i am not sure of the profile #NACA??
I'll try for the pics, just don't know how to upload them on this site.

A few pics.
A few pics.
From your pictures it looks like I’m pretty close. Your vertical stab front edge intersects the fuselage differently and someone has added a lot of fillet work around the tail that I did not see on the plans. The area around the front lower part of the stab where it intersects with the fuselage shows a very complex shape that is not reflected on your build. Yours is built more like the first kit in the series but with the full rudder like the second series.
Just a thought, you might be able to straighten the wing using heat. Moving the wing slowly over a hot electric stove burner (up from the burner about 12”) sometimes lets you bend the wing back in shape. You will be surprised how much flex the wing has.

didnt see any sanding dust flying around fir a while...
