I am building the EXT version of the Troublemaker. It is a short kit so plan on a couple of runs to the hobby shop unless your shop is well stocked. The wood is good and the plans are excellent. The instructions are not for the beginner -- basic -- but that was the way several kit builders did it in the 70's. Mine is going along nicely but I'm working 65 hours a week and don't get a lot of building time. If you have any serious questions give Don a call and he will be happy to answer any and all questions.

I hear you loud and clear on the nostalgia GM1. That's why the Gator Flea is gonna fly... Wish I had an actual kit for the compensator, anyone who flew with Rhett Miller in high school would deserve such a kit, heck, I'd give it to you probably just to know it's going to someone who can appreciate it for what it was: cutting edge for its time. I know these old designs can't really hold a candle to the technology of today, or even 10 years ago, but they're still fun to fly, and with the engines of today they perform a heck of a lot better than they did with the older ones.

I am tracing the scan that was posted. I have scaled it acording to the size of the aircraft. I am currently using the VSD format, but I can save it as a DXF if you want it that way.

The issue with the Intrepid on the cover is the March 1978 but there is no construction artical or plans in that issue. The listing I have from Wayne Cartwright does not show it either. Does anyone else have any idea when or if the Intrepid construction artical was done??

The Troublemaker II was called the Double Trouble, if memory serves me right.

Jason,
If you want to fly a "Classic" with true swept wings! Then ask your "Running Buddy" Bill if he has the original line drawings for this one!

Hey Guys,
I was in the back storage room of the Hobby Barn clearing out a huge space for my new 50% Edge 540 ARF's. In the process of clearing, I moved all the original molds for the following planes:
Curare
Magic
Arrow
Vulcan
Miniare (.40 size Curare)
Thunderbird
There are still crates of foam wing and stab panels for all these planes. There are some wood parts still around and plans for some of the planes.
We were discussing the possibility of just throwing all the molds and wings away! Due to the amount of work tossing all the stuff, I decided to just move it all into a different storage area. If anyone is still interested in getting a partial kit or something, contact the Hobby Barn and "sweet talk" them (Bill Sr.). Maybe, they can lay up of fuslage for you??? 1-800-324-4910

BTW,
All the kits above were designed and kitted with a fiberglass fuslage. The Hobby Barn was under exclussive rights with Hanno Pretner and Wolfgang Matt for the Curare, Magic and Arrow kits.

I agree that is great info/news. Bill would you know if the
Curare mold is for the Super Curare?
Can someone please post a picture of an old Hobby Barn ad
of the Vulcan and Thunderbird? I can't remember what they
looked like. If I remember correctly the Thunderbird was a
large aircraft something like the EU-1.

They have both the Super Curare and the original Curare molds. The Thunderbird is a design out of New Mexico by Joe _________ (can't remember last name). It looks very similar to the EU-1 pattern plane. Big thick airfoiled wing with double tappered swept wing. Pipe ran down the top of fuslage with fiberglass canopy hatch to cover it.

Funny thing...
I got a hold of a Thunderbird designed and kitted by MK. Design looks pretty old maybe mid 70s? The box shows no pics but has MK logos all over and the plans are blue lines that have fadded a little. Anyone know the history of this design?
