Kato was flying a model called `Thunderbird' at the 1962 World champs. Perhaps this is a later development. I remember reading that the design eventually became Blue Angel.

The plans do say MKII version, so maybe mid 60s? If so the wood in this kit is older than I am.[X(]
I can't wait to build this plane. Maybe scratch the kit from a fresh set of Kinko copied plans to save the lagacy.
Anyone intersted in a copy let me know. I'll also vac form a canopy.
