Default AURORA 45

I have an origianl set of plans from the Aurora 45 from an MK kit. I would be willing to send them to anyone who will pay the postage. I would love to see one come together here like the Blue Angel. 8178 you are doing an awesome job. Keep up the good work.

Are they a manageable size to get copied or scanned? I would hate to take the only set off your hands (my build will be a ways down the road), but I will gladly pay scanning or copying costs in addition to the postage.

I'm sure they could be copied. I'll find a place and get back with you. Maybe I'll get a few sets done and then several people can have them.

That would be excellent. It's best if we can spread this around some, sort of like planting seedlings when you cut down a tree...Gotta keep this a renewable resource and all.

I called a place that said $5.00-$6.00 for the entire sheet. That seems like a good deal to me... I might get a few done so just let me know who wants them. I'll try and snap a few pics tonight to show everyone what they look like.

Ron,

Kinko's is who I use to copy my plans. For full size plans of a .60 sized plane it usually runs between $8.50 and $12.00 depending on how the plane was drawn. To do a wooden aircraft you would certainly want the full size plans for the plane and just as 8178 did, get a wing done and then get on with the fuselage. Pre Kinkos it usually cost about $6.00 a set, even for a large plan but I must admit that the NEW scanners/paper/printer are much better quality than the older units. It is another case of you get what you pay for, but...I just wish it was a bit less for a change.

I'd like a set of those Aurora 45 plans too.. so put me on the list and let me know the costs. BTW... to fold the plans (yes, I hate to do that) cost much less than the $4.00 mailing tube, but, for me, add in the cost of the mailing tube/postage.

Thanks,

Dan

Good point on the rolled vs. folded, Dan.

I will pay the extra for the rolled version, myself.

Thanks,
Mark

Hey Folks,

How would the Aurora 45 do with a Saito .56 in the nose? If I get some positives I'd be interested in a set of the plans as well.

So, what are you waiting for, man?! Get copying!

Let me know how much and where to send the money. Is Paypal an acceptable alternative? I will tag on the extra 3% they skim off if you like.

That must be a fairly large plan, it contains both the full length of the fuselage and the entire wing span. Is there a root and a tip airfoil shown on the plans?

Jim, perhaps we could do a double shipment across the border, then one of us can send them on to the other after splitting the sets? That way we only pay the painful shipping once...

I'll be in Houston in two weeks, and the hotel I'm staying at is just 5 minutes from a Kinko's. If I could get a good scan of the plans, I might be able to get them printed there. Deadstick mentioned in a earlier post that printing was cheap at Kinko's. I'll bring these back as carryon or something. I know anything printed locally is at least $30.00.

Please add me to the list. Kinko's is the best place I know of to copy plans. Thanks, Prop

If I had a scan I could print them myself. I'm a CAD designer and I sit 6' from a HP 42" wide roll feed plotter. I was told by a local place that it would only be $5.00-$6.00 to get a copy. The only place that would be able to scan is about an hour away. I think the copys might be the best choice right now. I'll swing the plan by there later and get some copies. Maybe I can get these out to you guys by Monday.

Chris, Put me down for set of the plans too. Would you have the
construction booklet also?

Dan, Thanks for the info. The reason I asked, I found a place in my
location a couple of days ago that can make copies for a few $ less.
Just in case someone wants to do a mass copy job. Quality seems
to be ok also.

Hi,

anybody out there - has somebody experience to use a OS 91FX in a Aurora 60 plane? I have a Aurora 60 kit with still semi finished fuselage.

Ok, going today to get copies. I realize I have a few questions too about the plans. The root is shown on the cross section of the fuse but the tips are not. Another rib is shown close to the tip and that should be enough to get a wing done. All I have is the plan, no instruction book. Here is a list of people I'm getting copies for. Please let me know ASAP if you no longer want them or if there is someone else that would like a set. It will be the price of the copy, the mailing tube, probably $5.00 USPS in the states and $10.00 to Canada. I will confirm this later.

Copies are done. They ended up costing me $7.50 each and they look real good.

Anyone know about the availability of a canopy for this model? Anyone checked with Singapore Hobby or MK?
