Out of curiosity I compared the .40 Minirare plans to the Precision Models .60 size Curare. Was surprized at the differences in the proportions of the two planes......supposedly the same design. What's up....does anyone know of a faithful reduction of Hanno's original ?
Also got to wondering about the benefit of anhidral(ed) stab. Sure looks cool but can much good can be said for it???

Hanno did the original Minare design for the .40 class aerobatic class flown in Austria, and yes, it does have only a passing similarity to its big brother. My guess is that a simple scale down of the .60 Curare wouldn't have the aerodynamics needed for the smaller class. As for the anhedral tailplane there was some improvements claimed for it but flying a straight tailed aerobat and Curare back to back I find I can detect bugger all difference, but it sure looks good.

I have an original MK Curare 40 plan......
I see a lot of productions beside the original Mk's have differences in fuse lenght, span, profile etc.
I'm willing to make copies.

I guess the anhydral gives stability when flying inverted ? Note that the tail take's part of the load, thus works as a wing, at least that's been told to me.

I asked an aeronautical engineer about that... he said that it would have the effect of rolling the plane in the opposite direction of the rudder input, which might be a good thing if the plane has positive roll coupling with the rudder.
