RE: Peppermint Pattie
Thanks for letting me know I am on the right track, I will try to keep the building light and reasonable. When I get the build going I will release some pictures. The Webra Speedy .10 on a pipe is what it will be, thanks.

We, me anyway, are looking forward to see pics of your project PP.
Now to find my PP kit. It is buried under other kits that I have collected since the PP was adopted by our family.
Nick, I'll bet you never thought you would have a devout following of your PP design such as this, all that many years ago.

Hi,
I wanted to have a small, hand launching aerobatic plane and after reading about Peppermitn Pattie, I have decided for this one.
I started with the wing. This is what I have done so far:

Yep, kits are ready to ship.. I had a very serious family matter and them my wedding in the middle of it all and it did put me behind in getting them out the door. I have contacted all that wanted them and only had one back out of his order.
I will be doing mine as a electric for the SPA trail.
I'm filling the basic versions first out the door, then doing the sheeted versions in the order that the orders arrived, that way I only set up the bagging sytem once.
If your interested contact me direct at [email protected]

RE: Peppermint Pattie
Guys,
If anyone has pictures of the PP and PPII please send them to me at scott@rcfoamy.. I'm getting a collection of them together for the new website.
Also I see there is a intrest in the smaller PP and Nic has given me the rights for producing that one as well (not the 40 size) so In the future I will be making some sort of a kit out of this.. foamy, electric, glow, epp, not sure looking down the road.
just keep that in mind and if you have any ideas let me know..
Thanks,
Scott Anderson

I'd love to have a 40 or smaller version of this plane. My space is limited so I have been doing my best to not buy anything over a 40, but this is such a pretty plane.

Our flying field is not in the best shape, mainly in hot summer when plants around become very hard as they dry. I am concerned about forces on rudder during bad landing. I think that the following change in the shape of the rudder could help pretect the rudder servo from damage.
What do you think?

I flew my Peppermint Pattie without landing gear from a grass field for a very long time without incident using the stock rudder configuration. I used Kraft unpinned nylon hinges that were well glued in place. They are really strong hinges and are nearly impossible to rip out. I'm sure that CA hinges would work just as well and be nearly as strong.

You have to keep it moving and fly it right down to the ground. But it is an easy habit to acquire and not problematic at all.
Being a small, high performance model, never try to float it in for a landing and you and Pattie will be fine. In other words, forget nose high landings. This is not a Kaos type of model.

Back then I had access to VWR Scientific laboratory bottle label tape. A clear polyester tape. I covered the bottom of the PP's Monokote covering with a layer of that clear polyester tape. That stuff was really tough and light weight. Nothing ever tore the model's bottom up with that lab tape on it.

RE: Peppermint Pattie
I wish there were an economical way to send cores to Spain ;-(
That would be great.
I am continuing with my all wood version and I am looking forward to see post from more builders, as a kit is available now.
Could anybody tell my max. throws on control surfaces?
Regards,
Marian
