I agree with someone paying what they think an object is worth to them... I think the original poster was referring to an object that was still in production going for more money on the auction site.

I think you're one lucky guy by the way, with all of these amazing MK kits in your possesion.

I made two points in this thread. The first, as stiletto660 said, is that I couldn't understand why someone would pay more on ebay than it cost new from the manufacturer. The other point is that I feel it's a shame when great kits don't get built and flow (because of their dollar value unbuilt). MK KITS I see that you plan to build and fly your kit. I think that's great, I commend you and I hope we get to see photos of the model. You sound like you do them justice.

Aaah now i see! found this through a search, should have read it all! I was only able to afford this lot due to me shifting on my jet gear, most of the kits have been bought on ebay but the Beetle came from singapore hobbies and the curare 20 came from a club member (never new he had it!). I have a nearly finished king kobra on ebay, it has been sitting untouched for a few months now so i decided to shift it on to help pay for a 'Hanno' and pipe i had bought, the same with the Roga Magic 60 and Merati Galaxy 2, i know i would like a Magic but i would like the MK version. I have to admit that i thought the king kobra was out of production especially considering the trouble i had getting mine! the same with the kougar and kobra to. Have been going through my photos and have found some of my last Aurora 60, i must have some of my other MK models somewhere. They will all be built and flown and have all the proper equipment, i appreciate that Rhom-airs would be more original but i prefer the spring down safety and i have yet to have a problem with a spring air set.

I didn't mean to "sound like" I was bashing anyone either...I wasn't...

I just wish I was rich...Or at least had more money..he he

I've wanted an Aurora for a long time...I bid on the kit...No where near enough but I bid what I could afford...If I had the money available...you would have lost that one..he he...(JK)

I envy you...But on the other hand...I'm glad you got it...(is that an oxymoron??)

I'm happy to learn that it will fly!! Rather than become a collector's item sitting on a shelve somewhere..

I saw a seller of one of the NIB Hanno's write a disclosure about some marks on his engine...Well..Here is a "sniped quote" of his words":
"The engine carries the serial number 4886. There are just the very feinest of washer-marks visible on the upper surface of the mounting lugs where the orifginal owner had clearly intended to actually use the engine! "

After I read that..I realized that folks apparently buy this stuff with the intention of "Not" using it...That made me sad...

My gut feeling was the Aurora kit probably wound up like that...I'm glad to see that's not the case...

Have Fun...

Chuck
