Default SPA muffler question

Are the Jett-Stream mufflers legal for SPA events?

Default RE: SPA muffler question

Two modelers from the Marietta, GA area used a muffler called a DYNA-THRUST (if memory serves) in
SPA Competition....(thery were Tom Atkins and Marty Barry)....and all was fine with those...I think the
JETT muffler is similar and should be AOK. Just get them running and practice, the Chattanooga contest
opens the schedule of 6 already sanctioned. Chattanooga is May 19 & 20.

Best wishes with the Jett muffler and the maneuver execution.

Bruce Underwood SPA # 15

Contest schedule is on the SPA website at:

Default RE: SPA muffler question

oops..... Bruce beat me to it...

I was going to note that Bruce Underwood had confirmed to me a while back that the Jett-Stream mufflers were considered legal for SPA.

My question to Bruce at that time was in context to use of the Jett SJ-60L for SPA compeition (OEM or factory muffler provided with the engine).

However I can not find in my notes if that permission was extended to the aftermarket version of the muffler used on other engines.

It appears from the post here that they are considered legal for aftermarket use. Good to know.

I have had a few inquires from folks looking to run the new OS55 engines - although jury is still out on compatibility and performance with the jett-stream

( I think Tom was running a PSP ultra-thrust muffler, which is indeed a similar muffler to the jett-stream)

I will be putting it on an OS .61 FX destined for a Banshee

Thanks for the input.
