Wanted: Vertigo 2

Howdy Folks,
I am looking for a Vertigo @ kit, The swept-wing airplane that has a close resemblance to the Phoenix 6/7/8. I built two in the mid to late 70's. It is my favorite of all time. It was that "perfect" airplane. Now, after a long hiatus from R/C, and upon finding this forum, I wish to re-create that long-past era.
Thank you,
Robert Fish

Hi Robert,
The Vertigo II is my all-time favorite also. I was lucky to buy one already built with Kraft-Hayes electric retracts. I got it from a really nice guy and top-notch pattern flyer who was a KC-135 pilot in the air force. I put a Webra Speed .61
on it and it was just OK. Then I put a piped Rossi on it and that made all the difference. One of our club members was a highway trooper and he brought his radar out to the flying field. He clocked my Vertigo at 135 MPH as it flew
over his patrol car. I flew that Vertigo for about 4 years. I never had a Phoenix of my own, but I flew a couple that belonged to friends. In my opinion, the Vertigo was clearly better. If a good quality Vertigo kit ever becomes available again, I will be first in line to get one. I hope you are able to get one.
Best Regards
JC

Hello-
I am still looking for a Vertigo II kit. I had an offer or two, however, when I replied to the PM, i received no response. In one case, I had an error message. I seem to be having difficulty with the "PM" reply mechanism. So if Ron Coleman is really out there, please contact me @ [email protected]. I had mentioned that I had a "pipe dream" of re-creating more of these airplanes for others to enjoy. Then everyone seemed to clam up on me. Pattern flying seems to be big in the South, and has a well established "Good old Boys" network. Please be assurred that I have no intention of stepping on anyones' toes or invading their intellectual property. I will not reproduce the airplane. I just want one to build and fly. It is an old friend from a long gone and better part of my life. It is something that I would treasure. Of all of the airplanes that I have built and flown over the span of 33 years of R/C, it is still by far my favorite. Once again, I do not want to rip anyone off, I just want one of these airplanes for my personal enjoyment.
Now, if I can get this darned scanner to work, I'll share some photos of my old Vertigos with everyone.
Anyone with a Vertigo II kit that they would like to sell, please contact:

Because the "pm" thing doesn't seem to work.
Thank you,
Robert Fish
