This is the Salamandre as flown at the 1973 World Champs in Gorizia, Italy. This was the event won by Yoshioka with the Blue Angel.

Wow, I forgot how much into jet appearance and flight characteristics we truly were back in the Seventies.
Your "Born To Loose" tattoo reminds me of a minor sub skit in a biker movie I saw years ago. Can't remember the name of the movie, but the biker chick was reading the heroes tattoos on his back outloud. Nothing funny until she came upon the one that read, "South Kadota". I laughed until I cried. Wish I could see it again.

That's a really interesting design. Now I'm assuming the wings were swung and locked into position prior to flight unlike the current f-14 models that start straight wing and swing to swept. It would be nice to look at a set of plans for that model.

Hi patterndreamer
me too, I have been looking for the plans for years.
PLEASE let me know if you do any better.
With todays servos and engines this model would be a rocket ship and would certainly turn heads at a comp even if it came last.
What about an enlarged 2m version?

Form what I remember reading about the model in the magazines of the time, this was not an unqualified success. The wings were moveable in flight and were swept back for rolling maneuvers, which apparently ended up with the model imitating a lawn dart. Bruno did not repeat his W.C. win with this one. Interesting technically, but not practical as a pattern model.
