So I'm doing the Passtime Perigee build thread, and would like to make it interesting and informative to all.

For me, I like LOTS of photos, especially problems and solutions, with a quick description. I'm not thrilled with long text of every piece assembled.

WHat does everyone else like?

I agree, Nick. A picture is worth 1,000 words! Most people reading these threads will ask for more information if something is unclear.
Personally, I appreciate the effort involved in providing the thread - time away from building!

Specific information about equipment and hardware used. This is frequently omitted. The assumption is that experienced builders already have their preferences. However, as an inexperienced builder, I don't.

Innovative and clever solutions/modifications to the little problems that always seem to come up!

I like to see the completed threads. I also like to print the threads but do not like the fact that RCU removes the pictures when someone selects a print version of a thread. So from this beginners standpoint, I like to see the completed thread somewhere that I can actually print including the pictures.

Along those lines, some pictures do not have the resolution to make a point clear. For that reason many pictures are needed so the more pictures the better. Then the text can describe a point and the pictures show the point and help clarify the point or technique.

Also as someone else pointed out, a list of the tools used to do something and then the steps or techniques those tools were used in.

I am so amazed by a build thread on another site that i have been saving the pertinent parts on word. i would think you could print at that point and the photos would be there.

I've been following your Perigee build thread with great interest along with other build threads, especially in the Classic Pattern Forum. I also agree with some of the other posts requesting people list the tools they use as they go along. Like you, I feel pictures of certain step are a great asset to a build thread. A person of your incredible building ability posting the occasional mishap or pitfalls in the building process gives the rest of us real insight into what it takes to build a high quality model airplane.

Keep up the good work on your Perigee, and remember that the time you and other experienced builders here on RCU are taking away from building is greatly appreciated by myself and many other lesser experienced kit builders.
