unknown pattern plane

I started this thread in the wrong forum and they recommended I try this one (I didn't know this one was here lol) si I'm putting it here. I got this in a trade and decided I would get it together and fly it before I decide to sell it. only problem is, I have no idea what it is, other than it was a 80's-90's pattern plane. if anyone recognizes it, please let me know and if you have a recommended CG that would be great, I know I could figure it out but I always seem to second guess myself when I do that.
Thanks

I have no idea what it is but, if you can't find out the CG from someone here, you can go to http://www.geistware.com/rcmodeling/model_calc.htm and using the calculator, plug in your numbers and get the CG anywhere between 25 and 30% of the MAC. 25% is a safe place to start and you can move it back for your flying preference.[8D]

I suspect this could be a Challenger, there were a number of different versions, I have the glass & Foam Kit, I bought at my local model club Auction for $80 It is going to be the next plane I build. The plan for my kit is based around a OS FS 120 (First model) which I have managed to find also.

It does resemble George Asteris' work, top notch and beautiful, but I don't think it is an Omen.
Too bad we can't see the bottom of the model. His last iterations of the two-stroke powered versions had a pipe tunnel that sharply ended right about at the wing trailing edge, giving the profile view a kind of TBF Avenger look to the bottom of the model.
George gave me one of his unfinished rejects (still 10x better than anything I could build) some years ago, but I passed it along to another good friend pattern flyer, thinking that with my health failing, I wouldn't be able to fly it. At least my other good friend did fly it.

The second Fresh Aire I built I added a dorsal fin in front of the Vertical stab. It also had a different wing which I made a tad longer than the first one. Sorry to keep posting, but it looks really familiar to me.

Greg,
The number I see on the right wing is 7305, which is hauntingly similar to yours, since it just lacks the last "0". Wouldn't it be interesting if it did turn out to be your plane even though the chances are slim?

I'm at work right now but I'll get some more pics of the plane tonight and post them. Will get the tail and bottom also, under the nose is pretty flat and a blind nut installed for the pipe. I'll also post any numbers on it. It is a glass fuse with foam wings, heck it even still has a robart mech retracts still in it.

LOL I think we have a winner here hehe. I looked at the wing and after the 7305 there is a residue of glue where there once was a 0 So who owned this cool plane? I was hoping to find out what it was, and now I find out who built it LOL. I however believe there is a missing piece that goes under the nose, but I'm sure you could tell me that. If you remember the CG that would be great. This plane was purchased by a friend from a pattern flyer named Gary Garabian, (I think I spelled that right) and when my friend got out of the hobby two years ago, he just let this sit with a few other planes. and when he decided to not get back into the hobby he asked if I wanted to buy all his stuff for cheap, to just get it out of his way so now I am trying to get this flight ready sometime soon. I need a engine because all I have is a TT91 on the shelf and I don't think that would be enough for this size plane. OR I could just wait until I crash one of my other bigger planes with either a Saito 150, a Moki 135 or the OS 1.08 but I like those planes too much to strip them, so I may wait till spring for this one.
I did a search and found one thread by Nathan King. and Gregg, it does have the dorsal fin you added. How long ago did you build this beauty. it is missing the engine pan I seen in Nathan's thread. most likely will never find one to replace the missing one but I may just try to build one over the winter.

Wow! Does this bring back memories. It is a Fresh Aire. I built 2 of these. The first one was a prebuilt that I bought from Steve Rojecki. I ordered just the fuselage for the second one and had the wings and stab cut. This is the second one I built. I actually flew this in the Nats one year. I'm not sure of the exact year but I believe it was the late 80's. I sold the airplanes to Gary Garabian. I had a YS-120 in it and had good power. I probably wouldn't go with anything smaller. I never used Robart retracts so I'd be curious to know what happened. It is missing the belly pan. I'm not sure where you can get a replacement as the airplanes were put together on the west coast. You might want to check with Maureen Dunphy as I think her company got all the molds. I'm sorry, but I don't remember the cg. I've built a whole bunch of airplanes and I don't have any of this down anywhere, sorry.
Good Luck!

Greg, the person I got this from has found the belly pan
and I'm setting it up with my saito 150. You did a great job building this and can't wait to get this into the air.
