Ed,

The AMA has a foam wing core cutting service. They'll cut you cores for any plans they've published, and probably anything else for that matter.

Foam cores would be better for using retractable landing gear, that's for sure. Thanks.

Scratch building an Astro-Hog now, looking at cutting out the parts for Hal deBolt's Encore and Joe Bridi's Super Kaos after that. What a HOOT!!

Soft landings.

I'll be recovering, and putting together a tower Kaos. It'll get an MVVS .40 with matching
tuned pipe. This will be my first patern-style plane.

Thanks, Skip. No 4-strokes here. The Deception will have an OS 61 FX and the Compensator will get an OS 55 AX.

RainDave: May I suggest a Deception. I have the "twin" to your engine, with the in flight mixture control. BULLET PROOF engine. Very user friendly engine wise. Deception, what can I say, I "scratched" one many years ago, and the Webra pulled it with authority. Deception is VERY capable of performing all the maneuvers, IF the pilot can push the sticks in the right direction. Slab side type of construction, typical of the era. Build it using contest balsa and then "lighten" the wood further, eye ball engineering stuff. I then used 3/4 ounce cloth and poly resin for finish and auto paint. Maybe now use 1/2 ounce cloth, Deft Poly Arcrylic finish, with sealer etc. for a "lighter" style of finish prior to paint. I knew Jim Kimbro the designer a little, as I lived in the San Joaquin Valley at the time he was living there in the same area etc.

Ray,

Would really appreciate a better look at the Mustang X (MAN) and plan. Tried to PM you but couldn't get it to work. Please PM me with your email address.

Thanks,

Greg

Were those the Mustang X 60 plans? I got a copy of those too. Downsized them to get it to SPA "legal" size. Would love to see a copy of the original plans (with the builtup wing).
