Chuck,
I was just wondering if you had any updates on your 42" Brushfire? This little plane seems to creep into my thoughts at 3 am while dreaming... I think it's one of those "hobbyist for life" things so I'm not too worried...
David.

David,
Good to hear from you. Yes there has been progress on the larger Brushfire, however none since last year. I've been overwhelmed with other projects. I hope to get back on it before the start of summer. Still need to cap the rudder and finish up the bellypan. Looks like I'll be using a 25 size engine but not sure which one. I like the GMS 25, has all the power of an OS 25ax, it's 2 oz. lighter and half the cost.
Here's the specs:
span 43.25"
length 36.25 (nosering to end of rudder)
auw 20.4 oz
Last pic. is a size comparison with my first effort.

Chuck,
man... those little guys sure look nice! [8D]
Great to hear back from you. The 43" seems quite a bit bigger compared to the 38". At 20 oz of airframe you should be able to come in at 40 oz AUW without a problem. And on a 25... whoa! I hear the GMS's run well and as you say are quite inexpensive.
Did you set her up for 1 or 2 aileron servos? Any landing gear? Are the wings integral as the previous or removable?
I look forward to seeing her finished!
David.
P.S. How did your PP and Cox 15 turn out - good flier?
