User product reviews section at RCU?
Had a thought...
Do any of you read the online product reviews for planes, engines, radio's, etc. at the websites that have them or do you mostly just read them in print form?
I was thinking of having users like you that wanted to review their kits, planes, heli's, radio's, engines, or anything else RC and have them put online at our website under a "user reviews" section. Would any of you be interested in writing a review? Would you read other users reviews? Do you think this idea is good/interesting?
We would set up something to give regular users a place to put up reviews, pictures, etc. of products on our site so other users could read them. Kind of like an online magazine by the people, for the people.
Is this worthwhile to pursue?
Any opinions are appreciated.

Can I have your dog?
ALSO,I think a product review would be exellent. I feel you get a better and more honest review from an indivdual who isn't benefiting from a corporate sponsor. You know more than"the kit wasn't packed very good, but other than that it's an exellent airplane".

Marc,
Definately a good idea.
If your interested, This is a review I did at ********.net on the Doghouse Extreme. If you can, (I know you can figure it out) and want to you can pull it over to RCU when the forum opens. The review is pretty detailed and has a ton of pics from construction to flying.

Great idea. In fact I have been meaning to pose that in your suggestions forum. I am currently working on a review of the new Aces 1 Edge 540 profile I am building, as well as the OS 50 SX I am putting on it. I also plan to review the new Aeroworks 60/90 Edge 540 T which should arrive Monday afternoon. I would love to have a dedicated place to post the reviews on RC Universe.
IT just keeps gettin' better......
Thanks, Robert.

Just started mine, don't have any useful pictures yet. You can see pictures and read some reviews at their web site aces1.com .
E-Mail me at [email protected] and I will send you my initial impression of the kit and plans. Don't want to jump too far ahead here in plain view yet .

Below are some links to a few construction and finish pic's of mine. Also here is a copy of a mini review, (or should I say my impressions of the plane) that I sent to Mike Pilkenton that he posted on the Aces 1 site. I am in no way affilitated with Mike or Aces 1 other than that I purchased their Kit and love flying this plane.
Hey Mike, my hat goes off to you on this one, it's a winner. I have had a lot of funfly planes ( Fazer, TH Extra, Raven and two Wasp's) but, this is the best of the lot. It does everything. Tight loops (inside & out), snaps are crisp, rolls are axial, flat spins are blinding and it recovers excellent. It hovers the best of any plane that I have flown, I have a new MVVS .40 with a 10 x 5 prop that has only about a half gallon through it so I not trusting enough yet to try and back it down to the ground for a tail touch but on my second flight I could hover 20 ft. off the ground for over 45 seconds (some guys at the field timed it today). This flies and hovers so stable that it's unbelievable, it's the best funfly plane going as far as I am concerned. Bottom line, ONE AWESOME AIRCRAFT!!! Until now the Wasp was the best, I have one ready to cover but I think I will burn it in the fire place and just order another one of your kits. Thanks again for a great kit that flies excellent.

I'm going to be building this plane soon and was disappointed to find the pics don't come up! Might you be able to Email them to me maybe or post them somewhere else?
Thanks
Chris

Sorry Chris, but they won't work remotely from this location. All you have to do is copy and paste them into your browser manually and they will work or you can e-mail me and I will send them to you and they will work that way.

Ok guys. The Doghouse Pics are now online. Go to my signature and click where it says "see my planes here" Then just open the Doghouse album. Make sure you click on "show all" I think there is 50 or so pics.

Reviews !!!!
I think it would be great to have a review forum, it takes too long for the reviews to hit the magazines, plus WE CAN WRITE REVIEWS !!!! If we can read several reviews on the same item, it would help folks make a better informed decision, what we read in the magazines are good and well written , but they are still ONE persons views.............Bud.
