RE: Sepulveda Basin
I was told by a reliable old timer at the field that they will let you passed the gate on Woodley if you are going to the field....I've always wanted to fly my float plane at The Basin in water and not on grass. If I play my cards right, I may get that chance. Off all week and no place to fly. Sucks.

auw,[:'(]
not like it matters anyway because i torqued the hard spots on my twist's ailerons and after the repair it needs recovering and i wont have any covering until saturday.
that means that unless the wind is perfectly still i am stuck to sunday or bust.

I plan on going out with the Big Yak. Rain or shine.(well not raining cats and dogs at least) I'll be out there around 1 o'clock. I think most of the heavy stuff should pass by then. O there I went and jinxed it. A little rain never hurts, It builds character. WHO'S IN?

i would like to be there but my family is going to that stupid human body display at the science center after 3 bust tries.[:'(]
just because i will not be at the field, i will bet it will stop raining just in time for some good flying and there will be no wind or anything.
i will try and be out sunday

I'm lucky i've got transportation to the field whether my parents take me or not. A nieghbor (who built the red and white plane what was it 8 years ago) can't fly because of depth perception problems, but loves to go out to the field, so offers me a ride any time i need it. Looks like thursday may be a little on the dry side so ill go then.

Heh, you would think that we live in the Pacific Northwest looking at this radar picture. Sunny California... yeah, right. Anyways, I am planning on heading out there, got the Extra charging right now. I will PM you guys if/when I head out there.

Oh, here is a pic of the Extra taken at my parents' house the other day. It may not be a big or cool as Billy's Yak, but what is these days?

The way it's been raining you guys ought to bring some waders and a canoe. If you're plane is out in the water though Billy does a pretty good impression of a labrador retriever.

Bill, that looks really good! You guys got the right atitude! I will do the same. If it is dumping, I wont be there, if a little rain I'll be there. I must be going through withdrawls, I gotta burn some gas!!! Ahhhhhhh!

RE: Sepulveda Basin
morning report:
for those of you thinking of coming to the basin...
as of 9:00AM
woodley is closed at victory
burbank is closed at the 405
burbank is also closed at balboa
the park entrance off balboa is also closed
light rain here at the moment and i did not see any signs of the basin runway being underwater along the perhipheral streets. ya think they get too agressive on sealing off the place just the same way the CHP get's too agressive about closing down the 5 over tejon pass when there's only an inch of snow?
happy kit building
