um - it was screwed to a stand but it didn't look new and I didn't see any signs stating that. actually it says "screw" on the table which would lead people to believe that it is ok to screw stands to that particular table.

i dropped by the field mid morning today - somebody was on the runway flying a paraglider kite.
Nice. Do you know who he was?
It sounds exactly like the kind of stuff that would get the field closed.

Jason Pakfar

errrr, it was a kite, not a full scale paraglider - lol - about a 4' wingspan & 2 strings shaped like a paraglider.
(not much else to do there with all this wind)

Years ago one of the regular boys at the basin decided to fly an ultra light at the facility. he managed to take off but crashed at the end of the runway.
The guy survived with some back injuries but his crashed ultra light stayed at the south end of the runway for days.
The FAA ran a full investigation and interviewed a bunch of the guys. What was remarkable was that we all knew who the stuff belonged to but the FAA never found out.

This guy come ocasionaly he flys a giant scale i'd say about 40%. He takes off from the taxiway and goes up to about 1,000 feet. I'll get a picture of his plane next time he comes.

That would be great EPflyer
We need to police our own field. The only time the authorities show up is when they want to take something away.
Protect and enjoy your facility.

Hey all you Basin-ites,

Watch out for those metal, angled borders that were recently glued to the tables. The corners are not welded together and the glue isn't holding consequently, there are some exposed sharp edges. This morning while fending-off a locust attack, my shirt caught onto one of those sharp edges and ripped a hole in it the size of Pacoima. Can I redeem my damaged shirt for a VF renewal? [X(] What about a Futaba 2.4 Rx? .....

Happy New Year.

Noticed one long piece of table edging on the ground, late yesterday afternoon. I pushed it under the table, hopefully still there. The table is south of the podium.

If anyone knows who the guys were who moved bench seat from the center of the pitt area down to the electric area, can ya tell them to please leave it where it is.

There are already 2 benches underneath the electric area along with a couch.
They don't need to be hogs amd take the only remaining bench in the pitt area.

Thanks.
