LOL hey yea it was. How did you like looking at that ugly thing for 7 days? If you are there next year, I'm sure there will be a thread just like this one, and I will get you a ride in the navion. But this time, We will give the plane a final check 2 weeks in advance, so when the mechanics break stuff instead of fix it, we wont be grounded.
Thanks for the free oreo ice cream sandwiches.

No, I think you must have went to some other guys. I wasnt wearing sunglasses. If you bought the ice cream on the main walking road, then i know who you are talking about. The stand was right by a place called Classic Cafe...right??? Because those guys were all wearing Oakleys.
BTW, no prob with the free ice cream. We ate enough free food that week. Everyone there is really cool. You just walk into one of those food booths, and make a trade. An ice-cream for a chicken tender basket. We met a guy who worked in a kitchen, and every day on his lunch break he could come to our stand with hot dogs, brats, and ruebens that he took. GREAT Fun....And yes, that big ugly Transporter got annoying. People wait 1 hour to look into a hollow tube..boggles my mind. Also, the damn Harrier and Waco jet. Those are SO ANNOYING. The harrier, cool the first time you see it, annoying for the other 6 times when you feel like your ear drums will burst... Anyway...hope you see more of you guys next year. -patrick

Who's Going To EAA Airventure??
Hey Putt_13, I was the older gentleman wearing the straw hat. My buds and I were heading for the flight line to set our chairs for the air show or I would have stopped. BTW, the airshow was out standing. I've seen many airshows (ref: older gentleman), but never seen anything like Franklin and his jet powered Stearman. Never seen the crowd on their feet after a performance like that. And it was their first public showing.

Who's Going To EAA Airventure??
The wall of fire was during the warbird bombings. I am JUST outta that picture of the Super Transporter. Another inch to the right, and you could see me. If anyone else has some side pics of the ST, I will prolly be in those. That Jet Waco....WAY TOO ANNOYING. Its cool for the first day, but then it gets really old. I had to cover my ears, because I didnt want to be deaf by the end of the week. That and the Harrier. Either way, yes the airshow is amazing. I liked the warbirds on Friday, and the stars of tomorrow. -Patrick

That is what my step dad said, why in the hell would you stand in that line to look at an empty tube of aluminum. Did you guys hear about the guy in the hughs racer, Howard Wright I believe was his name. He crashed and killed himself in yellowstone. Pat I think you probably may have been able to see that plane from where you were. Thats just to bad.

That racer cost more than a million for him to build. I read that in one of the magazines. I got a picture of me next to the very first day. Jordan

Here is one with a little more info:
http://www.trib.com/AP/wire_detail.php?wire_num=113911
Since all I deal with is turbojets, I don't know what all the gear talk is about. Maybe one of you older (i mean "experienced") guys can clue us in.
Here are some links about the plane:

Ever since Air & Space had the article about his plane I thought it would make one bad***** RC model. Guess I'll have to design one someday.
