Jim Ross,
I'm the guy that trains the electricians in ladder logic. That's why I get the phone calls.

Our paint line is over 520 linear feet has 52 stations, 10 PLC's AB SLC5/05, 3 PC's talking over Ethernet, Devicenet or Spread frequency wireless modems.

If I printed out the programming it would reach from the ground to your waist! I'm also the guy that wrote the programming.
See ya,
John

Full Time Job: FBO Line Service Technician Shift Lead. (a.k.a. Ramp Rat, Line Boy, Fuel Monkey, etc...) You want Coffee, Ice, and Papers? Prist, no Prist, no problem!

Part time: Aspiring Corporate Pilot.... 100 hours turbine time in Citation X and Learjets... will fly for food!!! Yes, the Citation X will do .92 straight and level but the Lears are more fun to fly!

wgeffon, I've fueled your airplanes a few times, but I don't think I've seen you @ SUS... next time you come to SUS, come on over to the 'Corp and say HI!

Ok, I have had my wrist slapped. Apologies, did not know that you were that involved. From the sound of your post, it wasn't apparent. Think I'll keep my 2 cents to myself.

JimRoss,

Nah, I didn't slap your wrist. Just too used to having peoples' eyes roll back in their head if I actually explain what I do for a living.

Default I understand

There are very few people who actually know what I used to do for a living and I like it that way. I am now retired, actually I am disabled but it winds up the same thing. I have had some really interesting jobs in my life and done things at other peoples expense that most folks will never get the chance to do or see and I am grateful for it but I don't talk about it very much.

One of the worst jobs I ever had involved nasty little people shooting real bullets at me. Now that one I really didn't like. Other than that life has been pretty good to me.

Don't be ashamed about what you do, hell, let 'em all know what it is. If people roll their eyes it is out of ignorance. Not everyone has to work at Burger King. Some folks actually have real important interesting professions.

OK.....Offical title is Senior Distribution Line Technician.
other words I'm a senior lineman for a municipality. I keep the power on so all my flying buddies can keep their batteries charged. It's a shocking job, but somebody has to do it.

Where? We have no hobby shop in Gainesville, FL. Closest is 40 miles away. If you are bent on going broke why not do it where you can at least stay warm?

Would have really hated to be on the receiving end of that night.
Glad we could help! Just remember not to be where the red rain is falling.

4 months after Tet Offensive is when I got there, damn that was fun. Got off the airplane and it was 125 degrees on the flight line at Bien Hoa. I was way too young for that kind of crap.

I'm a hoisting engineer working for Massey Energy (Coal Mines) in eastern Kentucky. Operate heavy macinery and do a lot of rebuilding and welding on Continuous miners and other mining equipment. Rebuild tail-pieces and shovel belt lines. Hard work, but make a damn good living for a 22 year old!

I recently finished school at 30 years old and now am an HVAC Service Technician. I worked at the local Georgia Pacific plant until overseas imports closed it down for us.

Red - the closest hobby shops to us here are 100 miles away, and are not the best nor very customer-friendly, unless you're one of the local good ol' boys. As for location - I don't like hurricanes, been there, done that, don't wanna do it again, LOL! As for going broke, I'm already there, just gotta con the financiers into supporting me!! Actually there is a LOT of positive interest, and even have had people with large amounts of relatively flat land volunteer the use of it for flying and/or car racing.

BTW, "here" is Northeast Washington state.

Been working hard lately, trying to afford a new Comp-ARF Extra . My buddy and I were heading back empty about a week ago and had some fun with a digital camera. Finally got the pics tonight and they were well worth it!
