Repairing a fiberglass cowl?
The more I look at the hole I cut in my cowl for my muffler, the more I don't like it. I'd sure like to try again. Do any of you have any techniques to fill in a hole (a BIG one) so that you can recut it?

Get some 6oz cloth. Cut a patch about half an inch bigger all round than the hole. Centre the patch on the inside of the cowl. Very carefully brush resin over the whole patch, it will stay in place. Do not allow the patch to protrude outside the cowl profile. When it has cured fill the outside of the patch with micro balloons. Sand to blend with the cowl profile. Recut the hole.
