I have a mini-funtana and there are wrinkles in the monokote. All I have is an iron, do I just iron over the wrinkles? Also how do you peel the kote off an aircraft that its been on for a while? The gas to one of my planes has peeled everything off and I kind of just want to re-do it all. Thanks for the help.

to peal off the mono you will nead a heat gun put on a oven mit or glove start at one pint and heat it up and slowly pull back but dont heat to mutch you will melt it but for the wrinkles just yous the iron star with a low seting and turn it up untill it strts heating unf to get it tight againe amy more qs just ask i just uncoverd my p51 top flight and just coverd it in fiberglass looks prety good so far

Need to ask you guys a question.
I recently brought out a .61 Kaos I built 20 years ago. It has never been flown and unfortunately the fuselage which I had covered with what I believe was Monokote is now wrinkled and does not look great. I have taken all the covering off and would like tp paint however in spots the adhesive from the covering is still on the balsa. Any ideas how to get that off before I paint.

What I ended up doing is sanding as much as I could without ruining the surface, priming and sanding with two coats of primer. That evened the surface out enough for the final coats.
Thanks

Well I dont know if you have tried to use these old technique, to get the oil and paint of your old kaos try to do as follows:
1.- Moist the fuse with some thiner(a thiner without oil works the best), and blow hot air from youre heat gun, have a cloth or some wipping material so that you can take off the grease that comes off while you apply heat,
2.- after doing the wipping a coupple of times take some sand paper and re do the sanding ( I use 3-4 diferent grits)
3.- After youre happy with the suface find some BALSA RITE (coverite brand) and brush the whole thing(you can thin these with toluene), these will help to get some grip for the covering......
4.- SAND the whole darn thing again with a 800/1200 grit wet sand paper(do not use any watter)
and get to youre wood piking (use a 1/2*1/2) balsa stik with T pins across and re do de final sanding....
5.- Take youre covering cut peal and iron
hope these helps!
