Anyone know where I can get G10 in 1/16" thickness? Frank Tiano's site has it up to .040, but no thicker. Another thought is to laminate two .030 thicknesses together, but I'd rather buy it finished. I'm looking for it for my Bates SBD flaps and dive brakes, so I need lengths up to 22". Any ideas? Thanks, Lee

What he said. I can build almost an entire turbine aircraft without buying anything from a hobby manufacturer. A lot of my purchases go to mcmaster, only cause they are marginally more than going to the manufacturer direct, and I only have to pay shipping, no taxes.

G10, stainless steel sheet, most nuts bolts screws, washers, festo fittings, airline t's, air line, fuel line, axles, adhesives, etc etc come from Mcmaster.

If you need another source, I use [link=http://www.acp-composites.com/ACP-CAT.HTM]Aerospace Composites[/link] for the "G10". They call it a fiberglass laminate sheet and carry from .005 ~ .020 thick in up to 24" x 36" sheets. [link=http://www.cstsales.com/fiberglass_plates.html]The Composites Store[/link] carries it from .010 ~ .06 and call it fiberglass plate and carry it up to 12" x 48" sheets.

Thanks to your postings, I now have the 1/16" thick G10. I talked with Bob Holman about laser cutting the material, but due to some considerations cutting this stuff, he would have to charge me a lot. I'm building a Jerry Bates SBD Dauntless, and I'll be using the G10 for the flaps/air brakes due to its rigidity. Now, the problem is cutting the myriad holes. Anyone know a laser cutter who can cut this stuff - I need about 250 holes, 1/2" dia; also, at a reasonable cost. My other thought is to buy a lot of carbide hole saws from Harbor Freight and try it myself [:@]. Any ideas? Lee

Try a place like Lowe's or Home Depot and check their hole saws. Look for the Remington brand. I'm not sure how small they make them but it has either a carbide cutting edge or industrial diamond (Rem-Grit or some such thing). It's pretty robust stuff. I just don't know if they make them that small. Also if you're looking online, you can find diamond edged bandsaw blades too for cutting that stuff. I've cut the thin stuff (up to .015" to .020") with kitchen shears and then just finished off the edges but I know the 1/16" is way too thick for the shears.

Accurate Plastics stocks it in colors.... 800-431-2274 water jet cutter could cut it easily... be careful cutting it on your own.... very fine powdery dust.... need serious dust collection

Be sure to check in the tile department for carbide tipped hole saws.
