Default Sig Akromaster

Just finished up my Sig Akromaster. Finished this one with silk & Brodak dope. I built it with the extended wing. Power is OS .15LA with 2oz tank on muffler pressure. APC 8-4 prop all up weight as you see it is 19oz. Plans are to fly it on 52" lines. It needs a spinner & leadout eyelets that are in the mail or it would have a flight reprt allready!...Gene

Nice looking Akro Gene. They fly very well indeed , I've built a few over the years , usually OS.15 FP powered .
I have heard that SIG control line kits are no longer being made . I need another Twister , so I'll build from a plan I have.

Vauxhall, thank you. I have a Twister kit waiting to be built myself. I have heard alot of good things about them. Too many planes to build not enough time!....Gene

The SIG Akromaster and the larger Twister are first rate performers. Both will " do the book". I had a TF Nobler ARTF that I loved to fly, but , IMHO the Twister performed equally well.
I have the plan for a Geiseke Nobler, next on my build list.
Have you flown your Akro yet?

No, i havent flown my Akromaster to date. I have been spending the last few days setting up our local airport for our" First In Flight" Jet Ralley we host every year. We get over 100 pilots for a week of model jet flying that goes from 7am til 7pm each day. It takes up my entire week & then some!. Anyway, i'll post a flight report once i get a chance to fly it....Gene

Nice Akromaster, truly. You won't have a bit of trouble with her - she's a great plane. My own has been in the air for 15 years with a very old FOX .19 driving her, also with 52' lines - never a problem, just joy and fun.

That has to be Sigs best selling C/L plane. Mine is 28 years old (and looks it) also with an OS.15 I swap between the Acromaster and a SIG Buster.

Mines downstairs with a chromed Fox 15 Steelfin in the nose. If you have access, buy the kit, use it as patterns, get light balsa wood and cover it lightly. Mines a little piggy and I've only flown it several times. It was for a grudge match that never happened but we both had fun building them.
