Anyone have any idea what plane this is and who made it?

The engine is definately Cox. The plane looks to be a replica of a P-40 Flying Tiger from the bottom view and the shark mouth on the nose. DOC Holliday

It's a Cox P-40 Warhawk. Approximate value $90-200, very much depending on condition.

Early Model COX P-40, as evidenced by the inverted engine. I got $50 for one a few years ago, and it was in worse shape than yours. Clean it up and hang it from the ceiling, they look better than they fly.
