Hey guys, now that I have the engine running good, there seems to be a problem with the plane...........
Honestly. What's the point. I feel like someone shot my dog, then stole my truck. Is there any reason to go on? I challenge you to give me one. Probably God's way of telling me I was spending a little too much time with my toy. I could use a shoulder right about now. Okay, I feel better now. Turns out the problem was pilot error. Trying new maneuvers too close to the ground with too low of control rates. It all happened in slow motion. Straight into the ground. And I just stood there and watched it. Couldn't even begin to think of how to recover. Maybe I should pursue an interest that stays on the ground. And to think that I want to be a real pilot! HAH HAH HAH!!
Okay, enough crying. Time to throw it all in a box and see if it still interests me in a couple of months. Right now I'm ready to give up. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

I wasn't at my regular field, but yes, I do have experience flying. My problem is that when I get away from other people I get daring and try things that I wouldn't otherwise try with 20 other people watching me. I was very comfortable with the plane and was doing some low speed low altitude passes just to see what it looked like. I then went into a climb and decided I would try to fly inverted. I managed a couple of inverted passes but then I just went brain-dead when I saw it heading toward the ground. I'm mainly just pissed at myself because this is the second plane I've demolished in 2 months. Live and learn, I guess.

you can order most of the parts to fix that tiger from glodberg. take a break if you must. but don't give up. it will fly again if you want it to. good luck, loren

The only advise I can give you is that you have to keep from getting too attached to any one plane. I have learned to think of planes as disposable items. Everyone I've ever talked to says you will eventually crash everything you own either by pilot error, mechanical, electrical failure or maybe even a mid-air collision. Heck I've seen the most season pilots at my club destroy a plane or two....It happens and its part of the experience of flying.
At this point, I have about 9 planes, mostly slope gliders, a few thermal floaters and and electric zagi. I know each one will eventually meet its demise if I fly them long enough, but thats ok, you can build another and the experience you gain is priceless. Furthermore, I can't wait to move to Bakersfield next year, and then I'll show you how to really crash in style
beat the hobby, dont let it beat you

Don't give up. I'm 16 and i live in Wisconsin. I started flying with a sky scooter electric RTF. Even after doing that for 9 months when I got my Xtra Easy RTF, I failed. I was "cocking" i had no idea how to do it. Everything happened so fast. I went into a PIO or Pilot Induced Oscilation, I lost control and it climbed to about 200 ft before going ito a spin. I thought as I went to go get my wreck that that was it, no more, I felt so bad, and i had a near dead ego. I rebuilt it and i thought it looked great as an expensive decoration. I went to the hobby shop one day, and saw a sign on my way out. MARCS. I thought "What's that?" So i picked it up and read about it. I went to the meeting and joined the club. I met an older member who in my opinion had a heart of gold. I set up a day with him, and we worked on a buddy box system, he taught me everything. I was soloing after only 1 training flight with him. That was 2 years ago and since then i have been in love with this hobby. Sure the crashes hurt, but get with a club and soon you'll discover that maybe you con do it , you just need a little help, and someday when your a great pilot you can start trraining the guys that are in your situation, trust me it feels great.

No really, you'll feel better after you walk past the LHS and accidentally buy a replacement.

I ll tell you what if i had a penny for every plane helped into the ground..i could by a pack of smokes! I take the tail's off my wrecks and mount them on my garage wall like plaques!Tail's out.Its all gonna hit the ground one way or another You gotta admit, itlooks funny when other people do the"dumb thumb thing" By the way that was one of my favorite planes in the 80's!
That looks like an easy fix....Or better yet looks like an excuse to get another plane Yea!!!
