thats an incredible crash. does look like pilot error to me. Weird entry onto the runwway like he was trying knife edge maybe? Definitely rudder mistake I think.

I do think pilot error as well. He was moving pretty fast for the wind to effect it greatly. I think he meant to have left rudder, not right. I saw a Bandit pass by at about the same velocity and it was clocked around 180mph.
I just can't believe seeing all of that money go to pieces that quick. It could have even been flutter at that speed. [:'(]
Anyone know what airshow this happened at?
That debris field could stretch 100 yards.

[ OUCH! that looked like it hurt. I just finished my jet, and i hope that that doesnt happen to it. It looked kinda dumb how the pilot didnt even try to roll out of it, because he was falling toward the ground for a long time. oh well, maybe he was nervous...

Sorry to see the prang, but thankful no one got hurt. The energy of one our planes hitting a person at those sorts of speeds would just be devestating.

Better luck with the next project

Cheers

OH MY....

OH...man. Um, well, uh. At least , um...noone got hurt? (what do you say in a situation like this?)

Um. Thanks for the great footage. I figure you should sell views for about a buck a pop, cause #1 it's worth it to see it and #2 you have your money back in no time.

I still can't believe that a small video like that could produce such awe!

Thanks, and I'm sorry.

With the speed he was going, I don't think the wind would have had much impact (pardon the pun) at all. He was still travelling *way* fast enough for the airframe to be flying perfectly well, even with the wind......right up until he dumb thumbed it At least that's what it looks like to me.

Was it radio failure? If not...
Looks like an "ultimate high speed - low pass" that has just gone bad...

The plane seems to be banked a little too much just prior to impact.

Well, the first thing I ALMOST thought was...he f***ed up. And I am sure many many others thought that also. But noone is going to say that for 2 reasons. He flies a jet! He is no newb..so it is almost definetely some sort of issue NOT pilot related. Second reason, well he flies a jet. Even if it was his fault...we call it an act of god...NOT pilot error.

He flies a jet! He is no newb..so it is almost definitely some sort of issue NOT pilot related. Second reason, well he flies a jet. Even if it was his fault...we call it an act of god...NOT pilot error.

So this correlation between skill and the fact that he flies (flew....) a jet comes from where exactly? Could just mean he's got (had....) too much spare cash kicking around....certainly doesn't mean he can fly. In fact, the jet pilots I know are all mediocre pilots......give them an aerobatic ship to fly and they have no idea. They can take off, do fast passes (all upright mind you) and land.....that's it!

I think Sincraft's reply was meant to be witty... not serious...

But you're right MrBonk... I too have seen some absolutely gorgeous planes being reduced to a bag of toothpicks because of mediocre piloting (well bad piloting actually)...

Some people spend years in the basement working on that scale project, so they don't make it out to the field that much... And then when the scale thing is ready they screw it up because they can't fly it... sad...

About 10 years ago I saw a dude at the scale world championships trash his plane because he was clearly not able to fly a plane (let alone a heavy true scale plane)...
It breaks my heart to see something like that happen...

Yeah, I know......but I couldn't resist the temptation Seriously though, of the jet fliers I've met and watched, they all suck at anything but run after run of fast passes. I just recently watched a guy (who normally flies jets) at the sticks of a prop plane.....all he could do was full noise passes up and down the strip[sm=rolleyes.gif]. Then he cartwheeled and demolished it on landing, having had 2 goes at getting it on the strip already. On the first two goes it sailed past like a rocket....came in way too hot. Third go, he stalled it 3/4 of the way down the strip after making the longest, shallowest circuit and approach I've ever seen in my life. He pedaled it all the way down the strip instead of letting it land itself, then whammo.....stalled and in it went!
