Thanks for comments guys! I've gotten to a point on the fuselage where I wanted to start covering... there is still some work to be done around the cockpit and cowling areas so I have started at the tail. I am using silver Ultracote for the fuselage and the blue on the rudder is Oracal sign vinyl.
Started covering the bottom of the fuselage.
For the rudder, I ironed on Ultracote around the perimeter and then applied the Oracal sign vinyl. In the second pic, you will see that I am using the backing paper from the Ultracote to heat up the Oracal to make it softer and conform to the edges of the rudder. I also used this method also when I applied the Oracal to the trailing edge of the rudder.
Next up was the fuselage sides...
Mounted up the cowling to mark out where the blue will go. Put a strip of the silver Ultracote centered over the line that will be where the silver transitions to the blue. Still have a bit of work to do on the cockpit as I need to come up with material to make up the instrument panel hood.

More covering work today on the fuselage. Laid down the rest of the silver on the front portion of the fuselage. Ironed down a strip of silver down the centerline of the front deck so that when I purposely did not butt the blue perfectly together it looked like a panel line with a small bit of silver showing through. Blue does not match exactly, but it is close enough for the guy on the galloping horse not to notice when it flies by at speed. 
Almost done with the fuselage covering, just have the vertical stabilizer left to do. I will be ordering markings from Callie Graphics for Petie 3rd and the nomenclature decals from IFlyTailies. Plan on doing some panel lines and weathering to give it that "in service" look.

Thanks Scott, much appreciated.
Not much happening lately on the Mustang as it has been a little chilly in the garage. Latest pictures... Installed the aileron and flap servos and pinned the firewall. I will be spraying the firewall with texture paint once it warms up a bit.

I know what you mean about the cold. Usually we have some pretty mild Winter months, but lately my garage and the Pulse 125 I am assembling has not seen me much. I will say the 51 is looking very nice, hope for better weather.
of corse I have a well insuladted and heated/ air conditioned shop when needed.

Thanks for the cold air.. it is now mixing with moisture coming up from the Gulf and producing white stuff that sends the people around here into waves of panic and causes school cancellations before even the first flake hits the ground.
Back to the Mustang, the graphics from Callie's came yesterday, so I spent some time putting some panel lines on the fuselage by indenting them in with a pencil. Here are a few motivation shots...

No worries on the weather derailment! I am ready for winter to be over already. School cancelled here for the second day due to snow.. all 2" of it. It appears they just don't know how to deal with it here. Cold today, so I have moved my table in from the garage into the house so I can get some things done on the mustang in more favorable temperatures.

Due to being off work today thanks to my kids having a snow day, I moved the work table into the house so I didn't freeze my you know what off in the garage. More work on the fuselage putting on the graphics. The plane is really starting to look good with some color on her. Pics below of today's progress.... First three pics show the fiberglassing of the foam part that I shaped to replace the damaged wing filet. I stuck down some press and seal, then used double sided tape to stick the piece of foam to that. Mixed up some epoxy and brushed it on the foam, laid some fiberglass cloth over the epoxy and then brushed some more to fill the weave. Not the greatest looking thing, but I suppose it will do after I putty it up to make it match the remaining piece a little better. BTW, no need to apologize for anything... feel free to discuss anything plane related here. The weather applies, because we need nice weather to fly and right now there is not much of that happening around the country!

This rebuild is looking good! I'm watching closely. Hoping to start a kit over next winter, so i'm looking for techniques and anything I can try. It'll be my first kit build.
Off topic a bit, I used to live in SC, the one time I remember getting snow they shut EVERYTHING down on base. My parents laughed at people trying to drive, they're both originally from here in MN. Weatherman is cursing us with a possibility of 5 more inches tonight.(with around 13 inches in my yard already).
Anyway, keep up the nice work!
