Ulta stick went down today. After extensive analyasis I am sure it was interference of some kind. I have had problems in the past with other planes on the same channel in the same place at the field.
How do you legally change frequncy in the transmitter?

If it's a module type radio, simply buy a new module on the new frequency,
and get a matching crystal for the receiver. Keep with the "low-band"/high-band"
that you have. The channel break is 35, I believe.
If you have a transmitter that doesn't use plugin modules, you really should think
about sending it out somewhere for the channel change and subsequent retuning.

Thanks, it is a module type, JR783. channel 40. So as long as I get a channel over 35 I'll be ok right?
Yea it is tough.
The Ultra stick has been with me for 3 seasons with hundreds of flights. but I have a good excuse for a new plane right? I'm just glad I found this glitch before the P51 maiden!!
I realize evryone screams glitch when they crash but I am quite sure i got hit by something, Like I said earlier i have had problems with other planes on the same channel at the same location

I can just exchange the x-tal for a diffrent channel. As long as it stays in the same 'band'. I now have 40MHz channel 58, but if i want 59. I just buy a new pair of x-tals and it's done. You're not allowed to do so?

Dualdude, in the Netherlands, I gather you can buy crystals and just plug them in. Here in the US, we're regulated a bit more. We have to replace the whole module - and for some transmitters, that's the whole transmitter. Oddly enough, though, there are a couple manufacturers who offer frequency synthesizers which can adjust to any of our permitted frequencies. Odd, eh?
Good luck,

Hill202, with your JR, you don't have to worry about "High Band" or "Low Band", only Futaba breaks up the frequency range that way.

Weird american rules
I'm glad it's not like that here. crystals are expensive enough already
