kit's are for people that have more time on there hands than they know what to do with why bulid a kit when you can get a nice arf hanger9 extra 260 for cheaper and probly lighter than you could bulid one. how often do new kit's come out? theres not a very big selection if you ask me

You're right kits are far and few. I guess that's where we differ. I really like building over flying. I just plain get no charge from flying. I have to force my self to fly so I don't feel I'm wasting my planes. Maybe I ought just build for other folks up to installing radio and engines.

I disagree with that statement, and kinda resent it. I build kits because I CAN. I have the skill to do so. MY time is cramped, and I have to fit kit building in between household chores (I'm the stay-at-home partner), home improvement projects, and critter care (we have quite a menagerie).

When I'm finished, I KNOW how my kit was built. I can make such modifications as I deem necessary. I can cover it with any design I choose. If I can't find a kit for a plane I want to build, I find plans and scratch build it. I get a LOT of pride and satisfaction in being able to say, "I built it!"

Some people don't build simply because they don't like to. Some don't build because they really DON'T have the time. Some don't build because they CAN'T. Which are you, straitnate14?

Hear, hear Driver.

I know every nook and cranny of my Lady Bug. And I was at liberty to improve on a prcess at my discrection something ARFs can't deliver.

ARFs are preferred to kits for the single reason many folks simply don't want to be bothered building. And I didn't want be bothered building my F-150. So I got a RTD F-150. I derive personal satisfaction seeing a box of sticks transform to a flying machine. Straitnate14 does not. His pleasure is flying, mine is not.

I think we're all even since a total crash of either kit, ARF or F-150 hurts the same.

I`ll never never again use electric light in my home again, I used to have it but then suddenly a bulb broke, no I`ll just stick to the good old stearine lights and oil lamps, I have plenty of time to fill oil and change the stearine lights

how many 3D planes in the 1.20-1.80 size can you find? i'm just saying the kits out now have been out for awhile and are not as capeble as some of the arfs out now. now if your looking for scale thats the only way to go if you ask me but you wont see me flying scale planes. i have no problem with people buliding kits i just dont have time to bulid i wish you could get some of the arfs out now in arc i like to cover.

ARTF..... Fine (If your a cool young dude who likes to fly like their hair is on fire).

Above is a bit of fun, not personal. I have planes, Helicopters, Cars, Boats and even robots. funny thing is I enjoy building the mechanical models like Helicopters, Cars and Robots but hated building my old Chris Foss Acro Wot. Each to their own I guess
