GP Supersportster 40
[8D]A while ago there was a thread on this issue I just can not seem to find it. After about 3 months of flying the factory landing gear mounts in the wing assy. have worn out. I am going to mount the landing gear to the fusalage. The question is what gear to use? I have the Du-Bro composite .30 to .60 gear. It just seems to heavy, Any help would be greatly apperciated, as I am having flying withdrawls, the planes flys GREAT! Thanks[8D]

I had the same plane, same issue. I made my own landing gear. Go to a metal shop pick up some alluminum about an inch wide. Put in a vise to bend it. Polish it and it looks like you bought it. All for $2.00.

RE: GP Supersportster 40
I have the Sportster 40 with the gear through the wing problem and I ordered the landing gear for the GP Venus 40 and it worked great. I put some plywood on the floor of the fusealage and put some blind nuts in the inside. Know it has nice clearance for ground handiling and they look like they were made for the plane.

Yeah the mounting blocks on the wing cracks sometimes.
Mount it right before the front wing mount former.
You might also might want to re inforce it from the inside..add ply doublers on each side of the fuselage.
Makesure the mount has proper angle. otherwise the gear will be extend too much in front and not enough porp clearance.
You might even considering mounting the gear backwards..just to keep it back closer to the leading edge.
Then epoxy tri stock on the inside again.
and of course you have to move some weight back.
actaully the phoenix Arf models landing gears would be great if a person still wants it mounted on the wing
The gears are in 2 pieces . If you access to shop..it makes life easy on a lot of things.
or you can cram a bunch of epoxy in the crack mounting blocks. epoxy dowls in the retaining hole.
Go to a larger size music wire. Redrill the retaining holes and wire slot and ream out your wheels.
or wack the music wire and use those axle like retracts gears.
