 Went flying at our local field wend afternoonm thought I would give my pattern plane a TT champion 45 a Maiden voyage. Every thing was great until I lost it on the horzion. then I found it and did not know what was up or down, so I put it in the trees, Myself and a few club member have been looking for the plane a couple times now, I did three miles today, the trees are so thick you cant see the tops I belive I wont get the plane till fall, then the ticks wont be so bad, It is bad taking home a pile of sticks, but its worse leaving a the field with nothing Lance

Thats too bad.
When I lived in CA I once lost a plane over a dry riverbed that was filled with 8 foot tall brush. I had to go rent a real plane and fly over to find it. If you have that option and you think it is in mostly one piece that would be better then waiting till fall.

Definitely an option, the "rent a plane" thing.
Many RC planes have been found this way, even from a few thousand feet up.
(Particularly if it was a brightly colored plane, and not a very small one.)
If you have an airport nearby, it generally costs ~$50/hour or so to get a
guy with a small Cessna or something to take you up for a look-around.
(I know that price may be off, wildly... depending on who takes you up, and
where you're located on the Earth... so please, no flames
)
The upside is... even if you don't find it, you got to go flying "for real",
and if you're lucky, you'll probably even get a turn at the sticks of the fullscale.
(Again, your mileage may vary... but I've had good luck in that regard)
Anyhow... if you do happen to spot it, pick out a landmark while you're up
there, or you'll have wasted the effort completely.

On the plus side...
When I was a little kid ( think 1st or 2nd grade) I got a plane that landed ( light crash) in my back yard. That is what started this whole mess that has lasted well over 20 years.
And if you lost a plane in Yucaipa California in the early 80's...

In about 1983, I lost a Sweet Stik. Spent many hours searching without
success. It sure feels funny to have a transmitter in your
hand and no airplane to go back home. Anyway, several weeks later,
I got a call from a fella, he had been fishing and found the Stik on a bank
of the Tennessee river, removed the wing (held on with rubber bands) and
found my name and phone # inside. We met up and I retrieved the
plane, offered him some $$ which he declined. The plane was way too
waterlogged, Kraft Sport Series radio was toast but I saved the landing gear
and Fox 40 Deluxe.
