3rd day flying my new skyraider....lost control and flew into a tree. on the bright side it was low enough to get it out of the tree without TO MUCH trouble.
A building error!!!! I think I left out, the screw holding the control horn onto the aileron servo!! DOHH!
Anyway, it wasnt there when I looked things over after the crash...
Oh well, another lesson learned! Only $75 for the plane. I could buy another but I think I could repair this one?
Broke the fusalage in half right behind the landing gear. the rear wing bold nuts ripped out with the wing.
The front half and the back half look ok! I just have to join the two halves back together.
I'm guessing I'll take the engine, fuel tank, servos and landing gear out so I can line the fuselage up on a flat surface.
should I just double up with light ply where the fuse broke?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
The wing has some dings in it but is very repairable, I'll deal with that after the fuse..
TIA

you can go to a hobby place or craft place like micheals and get some hobby quality and sized plywood or balsa. I smashed my fuselage up a bit and turned the ply to pulp so I cut the section out and replaced it with fresh ply. try it! just trace the old ply if you can get it close to the original shape.

Thats actually really fixable. These planes are held together with hot glue anyway. Use CA to glue the fuse back together at the break seams (like a puzzle), then use light ply, or heck, even popsicle sticks, to double up over the new glue joints. For that, you may want to use something like thinned 30 minute epoxy or wood glue and lots of clamps (so the glue soaks down into the wood). Definitely use epoxy to glue the wing bolt block back down. It will be stronger than before.

Sounds like you've got the right ideas to fix it. Fus 1st then wing. Just make sure that you rebalance the plane when you get done. Good Luck

Ive braught mine down in worse conditions than that and got away with it that should be easily repaired. All trainers breack there. I would recomend as has been said by putting wood and glue were the fusalage broke
