RE: tree damaged palio pro
i would but seen as it is a new plane il go the extra bit just to replace the damged section. then il patch her up or put a sticker over the damaged area. i have more pics and videos of me discovering the tree wont hold my weight to climb it to get it. when she gets older i will probably use the packaging tape trick haha

It looks like you have it glued up at this point..whenever you replace a piece of leading edge its good to extend it out past the broken area, then cut it at and angle and glue it on, I can never recall if that is called a CURF cut or joint ?
Also when a leading edge breaks its nice to lay some would behind the leading edge at the joints. I often even use lightply wood or thin hardwood ply..depending on the plane.
You should be ok on your glider, but if you had butt jointed that way (as it appears) on a high G airplane...the load could very easily break it at the repair.
I hope you won't consider this information as anything other than useful as I am not trying to be critical. It looks like you are well on the way to fixing the damage we all seem to cause once in awhile.

RE: tree damaged palio pro
hi foodstick, yes its just a mere glider and will never encounter an high pressure manouvers haha, if this had been a powered model i would have been more accurate with the repair, one by extending the leading edge allot further on both sides as you quite rightly so mentioned. as for the sheeting i would have done that also, but we are just talking a 1 and half inch patch that will most likely never encounter any g force or high speed flying so rest assured it will be safe, thanks for your input im just waiting for the pva to dry up so i can sand it flush and get a patch of covering over it and rebalance her to make sure the repair to the wing hasnt affected either of the models 2 balance points. refering to both balance points... for those who are readin i mean center of gravity and also the balance where you put finger under nose and rudder t make sure you dont have a wing heavier than the other. iv forgot the tecnhical term used..... after all it is 2.24 am over the pond
