Default Balancing

Ok, I have read all this about balancing. I have a Wattage 3200 2 cell pack and there is no taps on it to balance it. Can I just cut the covering off and solder my own connectors to it and charge each cell separetly to balance the pack? Does this balance the pack?

Balancing a 2-cell Lithium pack is much less critical than balancing a 6s to 10s pack.

You can charge each cell separately to balance the pack. It may be easier to simply measure the voltage of each cell to see if it is even needed. If the cells are within .005v of each other, you are fine.

Hello people.

I am very noob on this thing about battery and Lipo etc. but my question is how do you charge seperate Cells when in first place there is only three wires. I be using the ACCU Cycle charger. So how would you set to charge one cell at the time if no balancer is used?

In your case, you can't charge individual cells that way. If you have a Lithium pack without taps or don't have a balancing charger, it is best just to charge them normally as one pack. Over time, all the good packs will have node connectors and balancing chargers will become the norm. It simply takes times for the evolution.

The last time I checked, the ACCU Cycle charger was not set up for LiPo charging. Are they now selling an updated version?

Later;

Charges and discharges 1-3 cell Lithium-Ion and Lithium-Polymer packs. Peak charges, discharges and cycles 1-10 cell NiCd or NiMH packs. Charges two batteries at once.

Hi Guys,
I just got a Schulze LiPo card and am trying to find a contact for, or someone to make a balancer adapter for some TP lite packs. Have a balance cable kit but no knowledge. I could probably figure it out after a month but I believe there is someone out there that make this type of thing their business and just don't know who.
Any takers?
