best way to get lipo through a hot car for flying after work
I drive 10 miles to work, then to the rc club is another 30 miles in opposite direction for a total of 40 miles from home. I don't want to go back home to get my airplane gear. I have one electric plane, enough batteries and a charger to keep me busy at the field for a long while. If I put the gear in the car (transmitter, receiver battery, and my collection of flight batteries including both nimh and lipos) and head off to work it will sit in the hot car all day which I know is not good for any of that stuff. Bringing all this stuff inside the workplace is not an option as I have no secure place to keep it. So how is the best way to keep it cool in the car until about mid afternoon?

Buy yourself a cooling bag, put the batteries inside and add a cooling element inside.
We use cooling elements which are plastic boxes filled with a liquid, frozen in the freezer. Assume you have such things in US too?
Wrap the cooling element in some foam so you assure the batteries don`t touch it directly!
It is the LiPoes which are most critical. Most electronics are specced to work at 72`C.
Also remember not to expose LiPoes to direct sunlight at the field. Especially if they are wrapped in black folie. The temp could be dangerous high quite quick...

Oh I hadn't thought of that, but I've seen those cooling elements. They're advertised as an ice substitute and have a special gel in them that is supposed to last longer than plain ice.
