Default RE: Flight simulator?

A simulator is definitely a good buy anytime. Flying the 120SR is not like flying a CP (e.g. Blade 400 or Trex 450) helicopter. These are much more sensitive and responsive to stick movement and don't like crashes or hard landings very much. I use both RealFlight G4.5 and Phoenix, and these days, I have been using Phoenix a bit more (mostly because of the models).
