I just moved from an msr to a cpx. what a difference! my question is this: should this heli go down as fast as it goes up? every time I lift off, I get to a certain height and come off the throttle. and it goes down as fast (if not faster) than it went up. I set this up according to specs with a dx8. so I am at a loss as I am flying it indoors (trying) due to this lovely weather. any help would be helpful. thanks all joe

I picked up a rtf one on a good deal and I honestly don't know how they expect anyone to fly this on the pre-programmed DX4. I'm no expert but I fly a 450 and 500 and this thing out of the box was like a throwing a cat up in the air!
I set it up on my heli radio (DX7) and also leveled the swash(eyeballed it) and what a difference. I made a tamed-down curve , a normal stunt1 and a stunt 2 idle up. Started out on the tamed-down mode and quickly advanced to the normal mode.
It is a nimble thing and quite darty . As mentioned it is also very durable.
I would set up a tamed down throttle/pitch/curve and try that. Also check and adjust the swashplate.

Not sure what radio you have, but building a "tame" mode with lots of expo and taking the D/R down a bit can really make this twitchy little guy easier to fly. Especially in a small space.

I seemed to have too much negative pitch on mine out of the box using a DX4 - I adjusted the servo links a good 3 or 4 turns and it now starts to lift off at mid stick - which is ideal if you don't plan on the 3D just yet. If you have a computerised radio like the DX8 - you can change the pitch curve there - but usually these are set up with mid-stock at zero pitch, so always good to do the mechanical set up, before compensating on the radio.
Have any of you tried the E-Flite Brushless upgrade you can get for the nano?
Cheers
