Default Flybarless Head

I was wondering what exactly a flybarless head does for you? Is it purely for 3d or could anyone benefit from having one? Would it be appropriate for a small micro like a CP or do they even make one?
Thanks

i dont think they make a flybarless head for micros (blade cp). they make one for the hornet, but thats bigger than the blade. this head is mainly for doing scale birds. because in flight you can still see the flybar paddles. so all it does is give a more scale look. they are actually less stable than the flybar system. im not sure about 3D. i would try it. but if your planning on putting together a nice scale bird you might want to look into this but other than that i would stick with the regular flybar and paddles.

Naw, im a wet-behind-the-ears newbie and 3D is miles away. No, just curious as to the benefits/drawbacks of such a system because I notice that a lot of the pro 3D flyers are going flybarless.

The reason the pros go flybarless is because the heli is so much more responsive to cyclic input with no flybar. Therefore they can do loops and rolls faster.

A flybarless system on something like a CP , IMO, would be like trying to control a hurricane on a fishing rod. Next to impossible. You need that flybar to slow things down a bit and make it all smoother

The CP with a bell-hiller is super responsive as it is. Mine is so fast that if it went any faster it would do things before I even gave it the input.

The flybar provides two things. One is power steering for the main blades, remember that we use fairly small electric motors (servos) to move our controls whereas full scale use hydraulic systems.

The other is it imparts gyroscopic stability to the rotor system.

Flybarless flying is mostly for scale where you loose points in static judging for having a flybar.

If you have G3 try some of the scale jobs like the Jet Ranger or 222 in the scale head configuration.
