Default CX2 Servo

My neighbor brought his CX2 over because he had a crash and replaced a few parts. I took the canopy off and adjusted the proportianal pot about 1/10 of a turn...and got the nose to quit swinging. Set the thing down and was checking the swashplate..and notices a humming from the forward/back servo..Airleron?? It is stuck it seems and just sits buzzing........looking for servos online .....and cannot find em anywhere for the CX2. Not even on E-flites website. I think the gears got broken in the servo on his last crash. Where......o where do I find servos for it??

They are common servos, just go down to the LHS and they will most probably have a gear set for it.
Mine has s75s but they also used s60s, both very common and cheap servos. If you replace the whole servo, go ahead and replace them both, to even out the handling.

(edited to correct servo number--thanks)(and I somehow I thot I was in the cx thread, sorry)

Arrow,

Here's a link to Hobby Zone for the Cx2 servos, toward the bottom of the page.

Jellyson, Not sure that the S75's will fit in the CX2. I believe they are bigger-son.
How ya doing?

Arrow,

Charge everything back up full, and put new batteries in the TX. And give us another report of the problem. Glad to help ya out. Need more specific stuff. A tiny bit of chattering could be normal, if the servo is chattering, move the arm a tiny bit and see if it stop. Servo could be going bad... But not a catastophy.

ok............. running with 5.7 V on the TX out of a possible 6V......... lipo battery is charged.........may try disconnectiong the linkage rod from the servo.....see if it moves freely. Is it possible to switch the connectors on the esc........to see if its the servo itself.....or will the thing take off on me?? <<ducks>>

Oh ya......in the front of the manual..it tells ya that it has 2 S60 micro servos.......Imagine a manual that actually has information in it............

Arrow,

Not a problem switching the connectors just for a test to see if the servos or the 4-in-1 is bad. You don't have to give it any throttle, if you do, just a tiny bit to see what happens. Hmmm, read manuals, who would have thunk that.

Ok..being as it isn't my heli....... I put it back together and will wait for nieghbor to come back over........ Then let him know what our options are. I did disconnect the linkage..and still just the humming noise from the servo itself...luckily it is the rear one so if he wants to replace just the one........will be a quick transplant.
Will keep you posted and thanks to both of you for your helpful hints and non snickering.....lol I have a Venom Ocean rescue....and will have my blade CP delivered tomorrow........ So am going to LHS for CP blades and gizmos in anticipation of some doozys into the fireplace ........ Will try to wear eye protection for my first hover with the CP.

Arrow,
It's only a 15 buck replacement.. Let us know how the CP goes, put the training gear on for the first flight anyway. Go slow and take your time, it's a great hobby. Hope you have a big wallet.

ArrowNaughtic,

You're welcome. Hey, take it very slow with the CP, it can be a rascal.. Use Radds school if you've never flown a standard heli before.
