Default Direct Drive CPP Setup

I have newly installed the DD tail and BL from the instructions off CPbladerepair. The first thing I noticed is the tail motor does not spin until ~25% throttle, where the stock spun before the mains started, is that normal? Also what proportional settings are you guys using? It seems like once it starts spinning it is WAAAY to much and throws the nose of the heli way off. Thanks.

Rexor2,

Almaidah, is right, you'll probably need to readjust your proportinal mix. You may have to adjust the gyro gain again too.
Proportional setting are made for each heli main motor, blade and tail combination.

So there isn't one setting that will work for everyone, it's trial and error and may take several attempts of adjustment to get it correct.

Even if you make pitch adjustment of 1 or more turns, could throw off the proportional trim and may have to be adjusted again. It's a never ending battle. But once you get it set right, it's stay there until you change something. Oh, btw, eventually the DD tail motor will start to wear and eventually fail. You'd probably have to readjust the proportional again after installing a new motor. The tail motor will run between 20 and 50 hours with little problems, if you get more than that, feel yourself lucky.

Just follow the instruction in the manual on page 23 and 24.
