Brushless questions, lets get em all in one thread.
Putting in the Brushless e-flite 370 and would like some different opinions and hopefully a good base for others to follow.
1- Will the stock tail hold ?
2- Do I want to use the lipo alarm that drops throttle at low voltage by 10%?
3- What is the average pitch range in both normal and idle up with the 370 running 8 tooth?
4- What happens in a crash??? I had the stock main fused to save the 3-1. Is this an issue with the brushless in a crash will you lose the 3-1 or brushless esc?
Please feel free to add any questions of your own and thanks in advance for replies.

RE: Brushless questions, lets get em all in one thread.
a couple of answers
1 - no
2 - of course, you don't want to be damaging your expensive lipo's, I would make sure to set the cut off a little high.... 9v is plently low, and can cause damage if you didn't land immediately
3 - the pitch shouldn't change... plus or minus 10 for the CP, and 12 for the CPP
4 - you need to get a brushless esc with a current limiter. That way it will never put more current through the motor than the limit (say 20A or something). You can also add a fuse if you want to on the input side of the esc where it hooks to the power source. There are parties for and against this option... just read up a bit to find out more.
Also make sure to disconnect the center servo wire (it's called the BEC) on the brushless esc when you plug it into the 3 or 4 in 1. Otherwise you will have 2 5v power sources that will be fighting each other, and could cause damage.

About the crash worries, I'm using e-flite 20 amp.
Also is the brushless supposed to be this loud.?
I just hovered a half pack in the basement and mam o man, i'd say it's at least 5 times as loud as the brushed.

My tail won't hold at all under climb out Even with a brand new tail motor.
kinda makes me mad at eflite for advertising how good. the brushless main conversion is when it really doesn't work so well even with the g90 in HH.

Your going to need a better tail motor either direct drive or using 2 motor option. That little motor thats on the tail now is under powered but it does the job well on a stock setup. Heli007
