Default Update-Blade 400

First off, let me just say that what I am about to relay is not supposed to be a cause for which is better, the Blade 400, or the T-Rex. This is just one persons opinion (hobby shop owner) on the Blade 400. I just came back from my LHS, where I had to buy some parts for my CX-2 and got to talking with Darryl, the owner. He said he just came back from a RC show that took place somewhere in Texas and he had a chance to fly the Blade 400. In his own words; 'Now I've got to find a buyer for my T-Rex 450!' He only flew it for about 10 minutes, but he said that it was the most responsive 'bird' he has ever flown, and one of the best performing ones too. I asked him if he thought that my next step from a CX-2 to a Blade 400 would be a good one, and he said 'without a doubt!' Before flying the Blade 400 he was recommending the T-Rex 450, but after flying the 400, he told me that the Blade 400 would be his choice when upgrading from a co-axel heli. Granted, the two are different and the learning curve for the Blade 400 is greater, but he said that the Blade is very 'forgiving!' I sure hope he's right, because I have already ordered a Blade 400 and, trust me, I'll need all the forgivness I can get!!!

Again, this was not meant to start a 'war' as to which heli is better, but rather one man's experience with the new Blade 400. Personally, he has never steered me wrong in the past and with his 5 years experience flying helis, I tend to trust his opinions. Still, for those of you that are still undecided, it would probably be best for you to wait until there is more of the Blade 400's 'on the streets' before you finally decide which bird to go with. As for myself, well my mind is made up.

Hey, that's GREAT news! I have one ordered as well and I can't wait to try it. I will definitely be giving my n00b review of the Blade 400 and comparison against the TREX once I get a chance to fly both.

Thanks for the update!

You know I started with the RC helis to stop throwing so much money at my car and this isn't helping!

CX for indoors

CP for outdoors

400 for the hell of it

FYI, I don't know how "plugged in" my LHS is, but after BenMer's post, I decided to call LHS and inquire about the delivery date. Like I have stated elsewhere, I had originally been told "Halloween". Unfortunately, it appears that it may be pushed back until Nov. 20th. [:@] At least, that was what his computer was telling him. I hope he's wrong, but on the other hand, maybe they got some feedback from the recent show and needed to make some last-minute changes? I would rather have them push it back until it's ready than fly a defective bird.

But, I WONT IT NOW! Just call me Veruca.

Nice! It would be good to see something give the T-Rex a good run for the money. Before this bird appeared, the only true 400 size heli was the T-Rex. Parts and service was through the roof and always available. Now that EFlight has decided to go into this market, I think they have made a very good decision. I have had mine on pre-order for almost a month now. I have been an EFlight customer in the past and if the bird flies as good as what is in the original post on this thread, I might be one for as long as I am in this hobby. I truely hope that they have learned from past experience with the other Blade products and have come out with a true RTF. I can't wait to get my hands on this. Problem is that being in Iraq, I have to wait for it to apprear and that could be Christmas!!![>:] And unfortunately there isn't a LHS right around the corner in Baghdad....LOL!!!!! I will definately be putting my two cents in when it gets here!

I aswell heard a like wise comment from my LHS. He said his order WAS MOVED TO THE END OF NOVEMBER!! oh man i thought i will have to wait on my blade 400 purchase. Then he told me the good news that is making me wait for it! he said he flew one at a hobbyshow a while back, and he also says taht he will prefer it to a trex 450! and it is the EXACT same size, with a little longer blades than a TREX SA! he says they are almost the samething, just the blade is easyer to fly but can also be super precise... so lets get e-flite A giant cake that says

"Congrats on the recovery form the Blade CP Pro! AKA Moneypit!"

ok lets hope these statements are true!

Make mine a chocolate cake!!! Or, since I'm not picky, whatever the majority wants!! Maybe the reason for the 'push back' is what BryFlyGuy67 said, that with all these real world tests, they may have found a 'bug' and are taking care of it. In my opinion, I think the 400 will be one hellava bird when it finally does hit the streets! Maybe, just maybe, if the 400 is as a big of a success as it appears to be, maybe T-Rex will come out with a 400 size, RTF bird with a more down to Earth price tag. That is, for us poor folks!!!
